Google PageRank Update Has Started

I read 5xmom’s blog post couple of days ago about Google Pagerank update and very excited about it. As this happen only few times a year (3-4 update/year if I am not mistaken), I hope Mr Google will raise the green bar of my blog and my network of niche sites. Those who are new to Internet Marketing, PageRank (PR) is Google’s method of calculating a web page’s relevance and importance through the quality of sites linking to it. PageRank is a link analysis algorithm that assigns a numerical weighting to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents, such as the World Wide Web, with the purpose of “measuring” its relative importance within the set. The algorithm may be applied to any collection of entities with reciprocal quotations and references.

Well, I got a surprise this afternoon when I checked my new niche site which is about 3 months old is now PR 3 ! Yes, it jumps from PR0 to PR3 faster than I can imagine. I think I’m right to say that Google PageRank update has started…:)

While most of my other sites get PR1 I and 2 (and some are still PR 0), I was surprised to see that an average site I built for 3 months old get PR 3 ! Well… this is a good thing, it has given me more motivation to work harder Yeah, I know PR isn’t everything, a lot of sites are money a good income even with PR 0.

Yes, I do agree that we should focus on traffic generation and conversion of the site but that doesn’t mean we ignore PR, right ? Focus on grow your site (especially Articles and back links) and I believed you’ll hit 2 birds with one stone. You will drive traffic and increase your PR at the same time ! Believe me Pagerank will come naturally without you realizing it.
